BULGARIA ESC 2009 - Krassimir Avramov - Illusion(1.Semi Final)

Krassimir was born in the small Bulgarian town of Sliven on 5th of November 1969, but later on moved to Bulgaria’s capital Sofia, where he studied and worked. Krassimir’s star began rising in his homeland at the early age of 9. As a young mime, he became well known in performance circles throughout Bulgaria and Eastern Europe as a master of conveying ideas through body language. A graduate of the National Academy for Theatrical and Film Arts (NATFIZ), he trained in pantomime under the guidance of the famous Professor Vassil Indzhev.
But Krassimir, being blessed with a very rare and unique male voice, the tenor-altino, could not stay silent for long. He took lessons with the great opera prima and vocal coach Penka Gekova, who inspired him and taught him to master his newfound talent. His 1997 debut album, "Silent Voices" got in top 10 of pop charts in Bulgaria. He performed extensively in some of the most prestigious venues in Europe mesmerizing audiences with impressive stage shows and his unique, one of a kind voice. As record sales soared and critics applauded, Krassimir was ready to move on to the next challenge.
In 1999 Krassimir moved to Los Angeles, CA in search of something more. But the fame and renown he enjoyed as a pop star in his native country did not follow. So he started over.“I worked as a pizza boy, and a waiter. I did it not only for money, but to immerse myself in the American culture.”He scraped and clawed his way back up the ladder and finally began performing at private and community functions. People immediately took notice. Singer and soul legend, Lionel Ritchie, was impressed:“When I first heard his voice I thought it was computer enhanced or something. But when I heard him live…man, it really blew me away. He is truly a rare talent.”Since his arrival in Los Angeles, Krassimir has been studying with the internationally renowned voice coach Kay Montgomery who is teaching also at Colburn and UCLA.He has appeared on primetime television programs including Alias, The Agency, and America’s Most Wanted. He also works in film and commercials, and is a premier spokesman for his native Bulgaria. At the 2005 L.A. Music Awards, Krassimir received an honor previously bestowed upon such music notables as Gwen Stefani, Korn and Black-Eyed Peas: he won “Superstar of the Year” for his 2005 album “Popera”. Krassimir celebrated with a standing-room solo concert at Hollywood’s home of the Oscars, the prestigious Kodak Theatre. The audience gathered at the venue witnessed his bending and blending of musical genres – a synergy of classical and pop music called “popera.” Album "Popera" was recorded and produced by William Tabanou who worked with artists such as Avril Lavigne and Coolio. The first time he heard Krassimir perform live at the El Portal Theater he was immediately taken by his extraordinary talent. “The moment I heard his voice I knew I had to work with him!”Krassimir and Tabanou recorded the album primarily at Jam studios in West Hollywood, with additional recording done in the Czech Republic. The album features 10 original compositions in 4 different languages – English, Spanish, Russian and Latin.

Lyrics:

Give me, give me your time

Show me, show me you’re mine

Give me, give me your time

Show me, show me you’re mine

All I want is your touch

Baby, I need you so much!

Show… me… all I’ve never seen

Wrong, it feels so wrong

To be a part from afar

Your lips can solve it for me

You don’t know how

You don’t know where… to go

Give me, give me your time

Show me, show me you’re mine

Caus I want your touch

Baby, I need you so much!

Give me, give me your time

Show me, show me you’re mine

All I want is your touch

Baby, I need you so much!

So much!
