Elena Gheorghe was born in Bucharest on 30th of July 1985. She strongly believes that the most important thing in the world is her family. Elena is half Romanian and half Macedonian. She has a sister, Ana, journalist, and a brother, Costin, the footballer of Sportul Studentesc. Her mother, Marioara Man Gheorghe, is a singer of folk music, and thanks to her Elena got the love for the music. At the age of 3 Elena has debuted on the scene singing together with her mother. In the fifth grade she joined the National Children's Palace, where she took singing lessons, then, as Circului Armonia soloist she took part in many competitions around the country. In school she has also played handball.In 2000 she won the gold trophy at Ursuletul de aur festival in Baia Mare performing One Moment In Time by Whitney Houston. In 2001 took part in Mamaia festival with Dau viata mea.
In 2003 she joined band Mandinga with which enjoyed a great success. In June 2003 band has released it's debut album "De corazon". In 2004 took part in Golden Stag in Brasov. In 2005 band finished 4th at the national Eurovision preselection with "Soarele Meu". In 2006 won golden disc for the same song. In February 2006 Elena ends cooperation with Mandinga and establishes solo project Elena involving Cornel Ene (trombone), Laurentiu Duta (composer), Ana Gheorghe (PR) and Marius Mates (manager). In May debut video for the song "Vocea ta" is released, followed by same titled album release in June. Song "Vocea ta" is nominated as best song of 2006. In October Elena takes part in Dancing With Stars, with her partner being Cornel Ogrean, they finished 3rd. In 2007 wins prize for the best song for "Ochii tai caprui". In 2008 releases new album "Te Ador" in pop/latin style
